The invitation-only workshop consists of ten days of intensive translation work and discussions, organised in three sessions a day.
In the morning, participants work in three or four small groups translating different genres, including poetry, fiction, drama or essay, depending on the works chosen for the year in question.
Afternoons are set aside for individual work.
All participants meet in the evening session to present their own translations in progress for critical comments.
They also attend special sessions with guest speakers. Each of the guests gives a talk, followed by a discussion. This session is open to the public and always attracts great interest. The guests also interact with the small groups during their morning workshop sessions. Turkish-English and English–Turkish interpreting is provided during talks by guest speakers.
