Birhan Keskin
Birhan Keskin was born in Kırklareli in 1963. She took her degree in sociology from Istanbul University in 1986. Her poetry was first published in 1984, and from 1995 to 1998 she was joint editor of the magazine Göçebe. She has since worked as an editor for a number of prominent publishing houses in Istanbul. Her first five poetry collections were reissued in a single volume titled Kim Bağışlayacak Beni (2005). Her most recent collections are Ba (2005), for which she won Turkey’s prestigious Altın Portakal Award, Y’ol (2006), and Soğuk Kazı (2010), for which she received the Metin Altıok Poetry Award. And Silk and Love and Flame (Arc Visible Poets), a selection of her poetry translated into English by George Messo, was published in 2012.
