Kurt Heinzelman is Professor of English at the University of Texas. His critical articles on topics such as British Romanticism, modern poetry and cultural economics, and his poems and translations have appeared in numerous journals. In addition to his many scholarly publications, Heinzelman has published three books of poetry: The Halfway Tree (Verser, 2000), Black Butterflies (Mulberry Press, 2004) and The Names They Found There (Pecan Grove Press, 2011). A nominee for the Pushcart prize numerous times, Heinzelman was founding coeditor of The Poetry Miscellany, a journal he edited for ten years, and is currently editor-at-large for Bat City Review. He is also editor-in-chief of Texas Studies in Language and Literature and is on the board of directors of the Dylan Thomas Prize.
